RULES & DETAILS - Group Events

Events: Vocab Challenge, Andrum Indrum, Miming, Creative Writing, Western Orchestra

Vocab Challenge (2 students per team) [Under 14 & 19]

  • This event is mainly intended to find a word using three hints
  • It can be shared with his/her partner.
  • Synonym should not be used as hints

Andrum Indrum (Minimum 2 & Maximum 6 students) [Under 10, 14 & 19]

  • Theme: Fusion of old and new songs (3 old & 3 new)
  • Time limit : Minimum 3 min and Maximum 5 min (Exceeding or Under-utilizing time will cause loss of marks)
  • Stage setting 2 min and Stage clearance 1 min only (Exceeding the given time limit will cause loss of marks)
  • Criteria for Judgement: Theme, Expression, Choreography, Costume, Selection of song, Coordination, Props, Time limit, Number of Participants & Overall Performance
  • Participants should bring their own CD which should contain the song for Andrum Indrum only
  • Cine songs are allowed but with decent lyrics
  • Participants should bring their own props (if needed)

Miming (Minimum 2 & Maximum 6 students) [Under 14 & 19]

  • Theme: Hazards of Selfies
  • No of Participants: Minimum 2 & Maximum 6 students
  • Time limit: Minimum 3 min and maximum 5 min (Exceeding or Under-utilizing time will cause loss of marks)
  • Stage setting 2 min and Stage clearance 1 min (Exceeding the given time limit will cause loss of marks)
  • Criteria for Judgment: Theme, Expression, Costume, Suitable background Music (BGM), Time limit, Number of participants & Overall performance.
  • No voice or speech is allowed.
  • Participants should bring their own CD which should contain the BGM of miming only
  • Participants should bring their own props (if needed)

Block and Tackle (Two Students) [Under 14 & 19]

  • Participants will be given with a Topic.
  • Once topic is given the Judges will say either “Block” or Tackle”.
  • Block Conveys That the students have to speak opposing the topic
  • Tackle conveys that the students have to speak supporting the topic.

Orchestra (Minimum 2 & Maximum 6 students) [Under 10, 14 & 19]

  • Theme: Western music
  • Time limit: Minimum 3 min and maximum 5 min. (Exceeding or Under-utilizing time will cause loss of marks)
  • Stage setting 2 min and Stage clearance 1 min (Exceeding the given time limit will cause loss of marks)
  • Criteria for Judgement: Theme, Rhythm, Synchronization, Pitch, Voice, Clarity of words, Instruments, Time limit, Number of Participants & Overall Impact
  • Participants are required to bring their own musical instruments and properties
  • Pre-recorded beats and music are strictly not allowed
  • No cine songs are allowed , Only Decent lyrics are allowed

RULES & DETAILS - Individual Events

Events : Extempore (Tamil and English), Creative Writing, Adapt Tune (Solo Dance), Word Treasure, Traditional Dance, Colouring, Mask Making

Extempore : Tamil and English [ Under 14 & 19]

  • The topics for the event will be given an hour before the commencement of the event.
  • The maximum time allotted for each participants will be 5 minutes

Creative Writing [ Under 14 & 19]

  • A topic will be given on the spot
  • Student should write about the Particular Topic given not exceeding 300 words. 
  • Time limit: Minimum 60 minutes

Adapt Tune ( Solo Dance) [Under 10, 14 & 19]

  • Random Songs will be played with Random effects.
  • Delay starting for the song or cue may be disqualified.

Word Treasure [Under 10]

  • Treasure is hidden in the given word
  • Each student will be given a separate word, they shoul find the maximum number of words from the given word.
  • No letter/ alphabets be repeated. 
  • The student with the maximum words will be the winner.

Traditional Dance [Under 10, 14 & 19]

  • Maximum of 5 minutes and minimum of 4 minuts.
  • No cine songs are allowed.
  • Traditional or live music are most welcome
  • Proper usage of traditional property is compulsory

Colouring [Under 10]

  • Sheets for colouring will be provided
  • Materials needed for colouring should be brought by the participants.
  • Students should complete the page with attractive colours.

Mask Making [Under 10 & 14]

  • Students can create a mask of Animal / Cartoon/ Fictional characters.
  • Mask should not be scary or violent.
  • All the materials for making the mask should be brought by the participants
  • The most unique and different mask creator will be the winner.

General Rules & Regulations:

  • Reporting time sharp 9.00 am
  • The events will start sharp at 9.15 am simultaneously in various halls in the host College.
  • Valedictory Function sharp at 4.30 pm
  • Hard copy of the Entry forms duly signed by the Principal and relevant document for age proof (Birth certificate or Transfer certificate) should be submitted on the day of the event - at the registration table.
  • Participants should bring their school identity card / Photo ID proof duly signed by the principal for registration .They should not wear the ID card during their performance.
  • Participant should not explicitly mention / display their school names during their performance.
  • Each school should send 1 or 2 teachers with the participants for each group.
  • Participants once registered cannot be replaced, unless it is an emergency situation without proper intimation. For any such change, a letter duly signed by the Principal should be submitted.
  • Schools can register by sending the Entry form by email to 
  • Participants should abide all the rules & regulations of the events.
  • In case of any queries during the event contact the Host Coordinator Committee members only. The participants or the accompanying teachers are not allowed to approach the judges or create any disturbance.
  • The decision of the judges will be the final.
